I do not recommend this unit. It is completely false that you don’t need prior knowledge to take it. The first two assignments are very easy and you will probably get a good grade, but don’t get overconfident: the last assignment is very difficult, and the final exam has a hurdle requirement, meaning that if you don’t pass it, you fail the entire course. For the final exam, you must memorize ALL the formulas. They claim they will provide a formula sheet, but this is absolutely false: they only include a very general formula that is useless if you haven’t memorized the specific ones. In addition, in the final exam, 6 marks are allocated exclusively to the mathematical procedure. Each of these marks is divided into parts A, B, C, and D, and everything must be solved on paper first and then fully transferred to the computer. It is not enough to write the final answer — the entire working process must be entered, including square roots, exponents, and logarithms. Do not rely on the university’s feedback, as the teaching evaluation takes place before the third assignment. If you fail the course, it is very likely that you will also fail the supplementary assignment, since it follows the same methodology and is conducted in person. They do not care if you are not in Australia — attendance is mandatory.
