This is one extremely boring unit and i really regret taking this unit as an elective. The lecturer has trouble articulating what she wants to say and speaks/teaches at an extremely slow pace. The assignments overall consist of 1 mid semester exam worth 15% and a mini research group project worth 25%. Do not take this unit if math is not your strong suit as you are expected to calculate large modular arithemetic without the use of a calculator as well as know a fair bit of number theories (relative primes, congruent, hash function, cyclic groups) to understand the symmetric private key encryption + asymmetric public key encryption concepts
