Reviews
Tas was my unit convenor, lecturer and tutor which entailed for a smooth learning experience whilst undertaking the unit - even during the massive upheaval of uni shutting down and all lectures and tutorials going online due to COVID-19. As mentioned previously, staying on top of lectures and tutorials is essential for this subject. Also as mentioned, the Income Tax and Cash Flow subjects are two of the more difficult topics in the course; so extra revision and study is highly recommend recommended.

I enjoyed this unit much more than I expected. Fyi I have quite a good background in maths so if it's not your strength, you will need to work really hard to do well in this unit. but you have to be serious and study to pass

If you stay on top on lecture and tutorials, and with some practice for final, this subject is not difficult. Income tax, cash flow needs lot of practice.

Pretty standard for accounting. Lectures are very helpful and the tutors were incredibly helpful in terms of content. Topics are easy if you stay on top of everything, and having fundamental knowledge from 100 and 101 is essential.

Contents are more challenging than first year accounting. Lecturer is not very hard in explaning topics. Lecture slides are ok. Make sure you do past papers and tutorial questions.

Strong knowledge of journal entries & first-year accounting knowledge is essential to do well in this subject. You study income tax, non-current asset, leases and how to prepare financial statements properly. Practice tutorial questions and especially past papers, you will ace the course. Whether it's interesting depends on whether or not you like financial accounting. Oh, choose a good tutor is important too. Some don't speak English well and even mark your assignment based on English (no comments on accounting though) !?

This unit aims to provide students with an intermediate level of coverage of the principles and concepts relating to financial accounting. There are many topics included of conceptual foundations of accounting, measurement of assets and liabilities, and financial statements. It considers the justification for the regulation of accounting practice, the need for on-going critical review of accounting regulation, and consequent changes. Students was expected to demonstrate competency in applying financial reporting practices. They are also encouraged to consider how financial reporting practices may continue to evolve.

Need some practice to get used to it. Do your homework!! Follow and understand every week concept and you will definitely nail it. If not, go to PAL or consultation.

I personally enjoyed it! It was not a tough unit at all :). But beware of submitting late the assignment, cos the penalty was 50%.

Thomas was really great, it is a hard unit so i recommend going to PAL - the two hour tutes are the actual worst, you just go through home work questions. a lot of quiz answers can be found if you CTRL F the lecture slides.
