Lots of work. Learned heaps. Thought I knew things but now I know them for sure.

This subject required a lot of time spent on the content. The assignments were easy when you understood what was expected of you. The exam is worth 70% so it is extremely important to study for. The tutor wasn't the most helpful. Sometimes he was confusing in the way he explained concepts. The Learning Guides are massive documents and contain a lot of information.

This course covers maths from all of your schooling years right up to about year 10 maths B. I was fortunate enough to have done maths B in high school so the content wasn't too tricky for me, but I have a lot of friends who struggled.. This subject is very, very full on. You have weekly learning guides that involve a lot of reading and work. If you allow yourself to fall behind in this subject, it will eat you up and swallow you whole. There are 3 assignment tasks (5%, 10% and 15%) and an exam (70%). James is the workshop leader. He isn't the friendliest in class, but I assure you that if you see him outside of class he is very approachable and helpful - especially during assignment time! I would avoid going to Jo, she's lovely but scary and can be quite overwhelming. She really knows what she's talking about though! My biggest piece of advice is to take advantage of the PASS (Peer Assisted Study Sessions)!!! I learnt more from my PASS leader than in the actual subject! Stick with them they are actually an amazing help!
