Lecturer Dominic, and tutor Robert were both amazing and helpful! Although dry, it teaches crucial skills which are super helpful for other courses.

A dry, but necessary subject for the future. It also makes all the tedious aspects of law much easier for you. Great lecturer. PASS classes did not help me at all. I did well without reading majority of the textbook or writing notes. Make sure to participate in class as there are marks for that. Pay extra attention during the Statutory Interpretation lectures as that is what the third and final assessment is on.

I enjoyed this unit, especially having a great tut teacher. The key component is statutory interpretation however the textbook leaves it out alot, would recommend either not purchasing the textbook, or asking for extra content from teacher.

I really enjoyed this unit especially because of my lecturer. The workload was reasonable and it definitely helped with the basics in law.

The key to this course is statutory interpretation. The textbook doesn't really equip you with what is tested on. The textbook focuses alot on history which wasn't examined.

Mandatory at ACU, but seriously the worst thing to try to study

Key to this unit is statutory interpretation, precedents and understanding the interaction between Statute and Case Law, which would be with you for the rest of your Law studies. It is mostly based on Case Law. Master the key cases and you are good to go.

Subject is a bit all over the place; you are constantly switching between topics, making it hard to follow, organise notes etc. However, the lectures are good, and cannot be avoided, and the workshops and tutorials are valuable as well, providing you with important skills for you future in law.
