This subject gives you lots of experience using SPSS, much fewer calculations by hand compared to PSYC2012. If you do plenty of practice questions and pay attention in tutorials, it's more than possible to survive and thrive in this unit. Don't forget a calculator though...;)

Adapted well to online classes with in-person and online tutorials, Q & A sessions, Stat Cafe (online consultation hours) and live lectures. A lot of support was given to students so that they can ask questions. Yes, it's stats but it has been very enjoyable and informative. Very creative assessments. Sabina was a very engaging lecturer and loved her passion for collecting memes made by students :D The knowledge taught in this unit will go a long way.

The lecturers and tutors are really helpful and able to explain everything quite well.. If you can keep up with the practice questions, tute extra questions and revision quizzes they give you, you should do quite well. The only thing was that one of our assessments was extremely difficult, however the lecturer has realised that it was too difficult and looks to be changing the format for next year.

Whilst stats is definitely a difficult subject for individuals who don't particularly like maths, this was easier than PSYC2012- much more condensed as it only focused on MR and ANOVA. Personally I found ANOVA a lot more difficult than MR.

Im pleased to be the first to review this challenging and rewarding subject. It is compulsory for Honours Students, otherwise it is recommended you do not take PSYC3010 as it is a challenging statistics course. It requires a solid foundation in simple linear regression and one-way ANOVA as taught in PSYC 2012, which is the most important prerequisite. Advice is to stay up to date, and attend a second computer tutorial if you did not understand the first one!
