My lecturer was Diana W. and she was AWESOME! It is a very useful subject for every science student! I totally loved it. The final was not difficult if you manage to understand the lectures and actively participated in the tutorials. I got HD without spending too much efforts. You also don't need to have great amount of math knowledge to pass this unit.

ENVX1002 is exactly the same as DATA1001 but is taken by Agriculture, Veterinary Science, and Food & Agribusiness students. The lecture series is really fun and gives you an introduction to data science and statistics. Some of the highlights was modelling data, probability and the law of averages, and statistical hypothesis tests. Every lecture was presented in the context of a relevant data story (e.g. "Is my pack of cards rigged?" or "Does caffeine affect endurance?") which was a really nice touch. Throughout the unit you will be learning how to use RStudio and will get the chance to use RStudio to analyse data that interests you and data collected from your very own survey in assessable projects.

This subject is incredibly difficult. Make sure you use all your resources!! Anything that is on Canvas is okay, but you NEED to use the external resources that they briefly mention in lectures and you NEED to attend the lectures. Good luck. P.S. there are a lot of formulas worth knowing even though they say in this course that it will be 'theoretically'/ conceptually tested.

This subject seems difficult and confusing at first. Especially if you are new to statistics. Laying out your work or getting a tutor can really help clarify the material because it isn't too difficult in the end!
