A course with subjective marking and no useful content
Anonymous, Semester 1, 2022
This is quite hard for a 1st year student to do well in because it requires an integrated knowledge of all the other business specialisations or at least someone who has done HSC Business Studies. It should be left until the final year of the degree.
Anonymous, Semester 1, 2019
Some conceptual knowledge taught, but poorly executed assessments which no practical applications in real life along with an even poorer executed tutorial structure (which pits students against each other in an arena to fight for tutorial marks) make for a terrible subject.
Anonymous, Semester 1, 2020
Very subjective unit with little useful knowledge taught. Quality of teaching was poor and marking was very harsh with no justification or useful feedback. Quite frankly this course was a waste of everyone's time and has no place in a Commerce degree.
Anonymous, Semester 1, 2021
This unit is extremely subjective and marking will vary a lot. Much of the content is common sense. Not the best for an introductory core business unit.
Anonymous, Semester 2, 2017
Anish is a terrible lecturer. On top of that, this course is very disorganised.
Anonymous, Semester 2, 2019
Well taught!
Anonymous, Semester 1, 2017
good introductory unit but fairly opinionated, subjective and unclear. It seemed at times that staff were deliberately unhelpful just for the sake of making tasks more difficult.
Anonymous, Semester 1, 2019
This unit is easy, but painfully dry. Like a lot of Commerce core units they will try to mark you harshly for the sake of making the work appear difficult. Concentrate on the report and on your exam more than the inevitably complicated group project.

Currently attending this course. The lectures are just theoretical and no guidance is provided on how to apply the concepts in a meaningful way. Thus when you attempt assignments, there is literally no way to gauge how well you are doing or the grades you are likely to get. Their assessment is close to being entirely random. Unless this is a core mod for you. Please do not take this course, no one needs this level of randomness in university.
