Could not rate this higher !!! By far my favourite psychology subject. First subject in coding but so manageable and actually fun with Andy teaching - by far the best lecturer I've had. He makes learning so fun by having the lecture and tute content go through stories in Bunnyland (following characters of his kids' toys) and also is just a super engaging professor. Also love how supportive he is in our learning & us in general - have genuinely cried a few times at some of his lovely announcements/emails. Having Andy as a professor is truly such a privilege, I'm going to miss this subject and I would honestly recommend this to anyone :)

Andy is an amazing lecturer and makes this subject manageable and dare I say enjoyable!? The assignments make up 70% of the grade and if you chip away at them early and keep up to date with lectures you will be fine. Sometimes I found that my tutor was a little bit harsh in marking, but I still ended up with a 91 for this subject. Exam was easy too and we were allowed an A4 cheat-sheet. Geoff's content is a bit hard in terms of lectures but much easier in the exam. Good luck!

Andy is the best lecturer!! defs made the subject as great as it was

Andy Perfors is by far the best stats lecturer you will ever have in your life. I took this subject the first year that they ran it as coordinator and it was amazing (even though I hate stats). I can only imagine how much better the subject has gotten now that Andy has had more experience running it under his belt. Andy's passion for all things stats and R-studio is seriously contagious; I exclusively use R-studio for anything stats related now

Andy was phenomenal and deserving of all praise that goes his way! This was such a complicated subject, but it was taught in a way that made you feel safe to learn and make mistakes. The first lecture was Andy having a semi-breakdown about garlic cloves, and you could feel the collective sigh of the lecture theatre as we all knew Andy could understand our own anxieties of statistics. I did this subject in 2020 when Covid hit, and Andy supported us through that time. The Bunnyland plot was fun and engaging, and made the scary stats seem less daunting. I said it before and I'll say it again, Andy deserves the world for the way he taught the subject and brought sunshine to every class !

Most students are very skeptical coming into this subject, especially considering it's compulsory for psychology students. However, I have to say it was probably one of, if not the best psychology subject I've taken and quite doable to do well in. Andy, designed the course in a really straightforward manner. Some of the concepts may initially seem intimidating but the amount of work you put into studying for the subject always pays off. To do well, you just have to practice exercises often. This means staying up to date with the lecture content. Everything builds from lecture to lecture. One thing I think could have been done better is making the mid-semester assignment harder and giving students less time to complete it (unfortunately cheating is very easy in this subject). This year (2022), over 60% of students got a H1 on the mid-semester assignment, so unfortunately scores had to be adjusted quite a lot at the of the semester. Still, it's a very interesting, rewarding subject.

Truly amazing subject!!!! Andy is probably the best lecturer I've ever had, he finds such creative and fun ways to explain stats. 100000% would recommend!!!

Such an interesting subject!!! I didn't even like statistics but Andy was such a great lecturer, he made the content super interesting and engaging!!!

This subject required some solid hours, but they were well worth it. Andy Perfors designed the class in such a way that made it difficult not to love stats. I've found the concepts and skills from this class useful both within and external to my degree. I'm also super grateful that I know the basics of R now! The exercises were particularly helpful- if you take the time to understand and apply the content to the exercises provided, you can do really well in this subject.
