Well constructed with interesting topics but the lectures are far too long and content heavy, used to take me around 4 hours to take good notes. Pretty heavy readings too.

This was a nice class to take! The texts covered were really interesting and led to some great discussion. My favourite texts/writers were Gorgias, Antiphon, Nichomachean Ethics, and the Stoics! Emily was a fantastic lecturer, and her explanations really helped me understand the texts. The tutorials were really friendly and it was a great place to talk about the texts and how they relate to real life! The only reason I didn't give this subject a perfect rating was because I felt that there were too many texts covered in the semester, which meant that we couldn't discuss many of them in detail, which I would have liked. Nonetheless, I enjoyed this subject overall and would recommend it to anyone with an interest in Greek Philosophy or ideas of justice, happiness and a good life!

This subject was really fun! I was a bit afraid that I would struggle due to my lack of experience reading old texts, but Emily's videos really helped! Plus, reading Plato is really chill, he writes in dialogues which means reading his philosophy is just like reading a conversation between friends. Recommend! :)

This class changed my perspective completely. One of the best I've ever taken. If you enjoy probing the unfathomable and exploring ideas that are obscure, to say the least, this is the class for you. Engaging and interesting, this class made me switch my major!! The assignments aren't too hard as long as you engage with the content and actually attend tutorials. I found myself really excited to attend all my lectures and tutorials for this class, which made my experience so much better. I loved it. 10/10 would recommend.
