While the topics were interesting enough, the LMS was awfully set out, most of the communication was difficult to follow and the assignment briefs were (literally located) all over the place. While the fact that the scraping tool we were taught to use stopped working with instagram before the last assignment was due was no ones fault, it also added to the difficulty of manoeuvring the subject. there was not enough time to go in-depth enough in the theory of what we were learning, which made understanding the framing of each task rather difficult too. I would not recommend doing this subject if you can help it. poor communication from tutors and badly taught, organised and set out.

I was floating during the first 5 weeks and doing other assignments and only when the due dates were close did I actually buckle down to do the assignment. It is good advice to start to have a rough idea of what 2 brands and which social media platform you would like to focus on as that would determine what kind of software you have to use and how much time you have to spend on researching using the software. Highly recommend my tutors William and Callum who are very helpful and detailed for total noobies at technology and to tackle the assignments. I gave a 4 cos I really struggled but nevertheless pulled through with a H1 on the dot.

Subject was initially difficult to follow, but once you are willing to follow through the computer technical learning step by step, you’ll be fine. I recommend that you have an idea of what you want to do with your assignment, and start early. Also Scott is a really good tutor and lecturer, very practical and down to earth. Even bought us cookies and chocolate in class!
