Back when Paul Pearce took it, it was pretty dull. No recordings, slow lecturer...wasn't enjoyable. However, the subject content is still vital for many areas of physics and maths and it is intrinsically interesting. It's also not that hard as many of the questions are computational.

This subject is essential for any physics student. It's also worth taking if you're a pure maths student so you can take MAST30024 or MAST90029. It's relatively easy but still requires a lot of practice if you want to do well in the final exam.

This is quite an easy subject, and doesnt eequire the rigure needed in other math subjects, which is why those who aren't as interested in maths will probably like it, but for those wanting to persue pure maths, just grin and bare it, it gets better.

Hugely important and interesting but has been poorly taught of late. Big step up from first year, so be prepared to work harder.

A good continuation of Calculus 2 (with a touch of Linear Algebra), this subject is quite nice in the sense that there is nothing too difficult to get your head around, and most of the subject comes together very nicely, probably more so than any other subject I've done so far (which could mean that falling behind near the start will make things VERY difficult) which means that while it may seem that there's a lot to remember, it all fits together nicely. Be warned, this subject does assume a reasonable understanding of Physics, and also while lectures are recorded, apparently they were very bad recordings (although I went to every lecture myself so it didn't affect me).

Very relevant and usable mathematics. However the quality of the lecturer varies and receiving a bad lecturer will make the subject matter inordinately difficult.

The maths in Vector Calculus is applicable, and very relevant to physics students
