Amazing subject!! Jenny Spinks is a fantastic lecturer, and if you can manage to get her as your tutor as well, you've lucked out, because she is an engaging teacher and knows what she's talking about. The assignments didn't make me want to die and I actually enjoyed doing them 10/10 would recommend

Loved this subject. Starts off a little slow, going through the basic political and religious structures of the 13th century, but later goes into some fascinating topics like Joan of Arc, the templars and medieval feminism. Assessment is good because you can basically choose any area of the course to do your research essay on. I personally found my tutorials kind of boring because I don't think my tutor facilitated interesting discussions well but that's just the luck of the draw and didn't diminish my overall enjoyment of the subject.
