Review coming from a math student taking this class as a breadth. Don't do it for an easy class because you think your math background will make this class a breeze. There is a decent big of knowledge which is just ROTE learned and ALOT of notation which at times felt like the only point of the course.

This subject introduced actuarial notation, life tables and many interesting concepts to prepare us for the Actuarial major in the future. Whilst it was a fun enough subject - having introduced ideas that would likely follow us in the years to come - it was also quite polarising and thus served its purpose of helping students make the final decision to commit to the Actuarial major.

Pretty interesting content and a good introduction to actuarial studies. Worth doing if you want to become an actuary, or just need a breadth and like maths

Good and interesting subject. I found it quite enjoyable to do. Would recommend it as a breadth subject for maths lovers
