Reviews

Here are my personal pros (+) and cons (-) of MTH2010: + Fairly organized (compared to other science units) + Low contact hours: 2-hour on-campus workshop (highly recommend you to attend) and 3 hours of lectures (I watched them online) + Lecturers and tutors were willing to help (however this can change with each semester) + Sample papers for the mid-term test and final exam were fairly similar to the real deal, only with slight alterations + No need to remember proofs, just know how to use it. - Content can be very difficult particularly in the last few weeks (eg Stoke's theorem) of the semester, which explains why this unit has a significant fail rate - Lectures were difficult to understand, I recommend Paul Lamar notes online as well as completing the weekly problem sets. - the assignments and quizzes were not heavily weighed (3% and 1% respectively) despite the difficulty. Verdict: This is up to you. MTH2010 can be a challenging unit but as long as you have a solid mathematical background and CONSISTENTLY work hard throughout the semester, you shouldn't be having too many issues. Good luck and I hope this review helps!

I enjoyed this unit a lot. Todd's lectures were not useful much. He did not explain the physical meaning of what we were trying to solve( prior knowledge of physics helped me ) and focused entriely on proofs. One of the best online resource for this unit would be Pual Lamar notes on calculus 3. The exam given to us was similar to 2018 semester 1 exam. Though the soultions were not provided for the sample exam but Simon had a exam session where he went over nearly all the questions.

A really good unit. I had one bad lecturer who I'd never heard of though. If you get Todd good luck. Easy unit until the last two weeks.

Unit is pretty good, with straight forward content and testing. Only thing wrong would be the teaching in the lectures. I find it a bit confusing sometimes, but then again it is hard to lecture mathematics to a group of 100+ students

Enjoy calculus? Then this is a unit you will love! Generally a doable unit, although constant revision is a must!
