Not sure if this is just because of COVID but the chemical engineering part of the course was really dull. Talked about project management and risk (important for engineering but was dragged on for too long). They decided to introduce Chem eng with a waste water treatment plant which is just a euphemism for sewage treatment. Was kinda off putting. The lecture kept mentioning that the concepts learnt apply to different areas of Chem eng but we never explored them which I think is a shame. The rest of the unit is well taught and delivered well. Material and electrical engineering concepts went hand in hand and were eye opening to me on how computers work was very interesting for me.

Probably the easiest subject I have under taken. Only need problem solving skills.

The chemical engineering aspect was kinda hard, and the practical work of that glow stick was pretty vague, literally the practicals were soo bad we were just mixing things together and measuring how bright they were. The electrical engineering aspect was REALLY GOOD AND INTERESTING!! There were more theories involved in this then chemical engineering so you have to spend more time studying but the practical was easy as we had to design a lamp which I was scared of at first but when I did it it was easy. Also, if you have a good team it will come in handy, but easy to acheive D or HD if you keep up with work and attend the PASS classes(highly recommend it!!)

Found this subject really interesting, the electrical component is the most involved in terms of theory and application. The two team projects were also a great experience

The electrical component of the subject is challenging compared to the other two components. So, pay more attention and put more effort on that part. Overall, extreme;ly interesting subject with 2 excellent projects.
