Just do tutorial questions for practice, you will be fine. Hypothesis testing & regression are more difficult to grasp.

The unit is concerned with the development of an understanding of statistical practice and is illustrated by a study of those techniques most commonly used in the sciences, social sciences and humanities. The aim of statistical practice is to make the scientific research process efficient; for this reason statistics is used in disciplines ranging from accountancy to zoology. Topics covered in this unit include: data collection methods; data quality; data summarisation; and statistical models like the normal distribution, followed by sampling distributions and statistical inferences about means, proportions and quantiles. Also studied are methods of analysis relating to comparisons, counted data and relationships, including regression and correlation.

Go to all of the lectures, tutorials and practicals.

Reasonably easy unit, basic knowledge of maths is necessary. Second half of the unit was easier than the first as it became repetitive in a way. Attend the practicals and tutorials, easy D/HD

Lectures quite messy and not well given, but contain minimal content. If basic concepts understood each week, it is an easy unit to do well in. Tutes are not very useful at all. Cheat sheet allowed in final exam, making passing the unit very easy.

The disorganisation of this unit makes me want to cry, the only good thing about this unit is the tutes and you MUST go to them if you want to pass. I hated this unit so much but its compulsory for a science degree. Good luck.

boring, poorly taught. the pracs were good fun and easy if you have a good understanding of excel. The tutorials didnt seem to acheive much. lectures rushed through the numeracy centre does weekly tutorials - REALLY wish i had known about and been able to attend them on a regular basis because so much better than our class tutes.

Lectures are interesting if you keep on top of things so you can follow. Not a great deal of content/ maths, plus exam was easy with the formula sheet AND double sided cheat sheet.

Not really important

A very important subject for many degrees. Can be very easy if kept up to date every week and do a bit of practice.
