Reviews
great subject, that any student can ace successfully as long as he completes all the assignments appropriately and the final exam

I really enjoyed contracts. Never fall behind on lectures it is extremely hard to catch up. I did readings but most of the content is covered in the lectures. In Ilija's tutorials, the exams are structured almost identically to how he presents the hypotheticals so take good notes because you can use them in the exams. I found that the most useful way to study was by writing first the concept then exceptions. Past papers can be useful as essay questions are often repeated however I would advise people to attempt to learn the content rather than do past papers once you have learnt to structure an argument. Despite being open book there is little time for scrolling through pages if you don't know your notes well and the section in which the content is found.

I absolutely loved contracts! The lecturer/tutor was very engaging and explained everything in an easy manner. There were a lot of readings for the course and although it is difficult to keep up with the readings, I would definitely recommend reading the textbook! The Course was very well-structured and classes focused on developing the skills required for the exam.

Ilija Vickovich is an amazing Lecturer in both Contracts and Evidence Law. He thoroughly explains concepts in a very easy-to-understand manner, which is extremely helpful in such black-letter law subjects. This website also helped me grasp an understanding of basic contract law concepts --> survivinglaw.com

I found this unit very interesting and engaging. Lots of the cases are fascinating. The key to enjoying this unit is keeping up to date with your readings as it is very content heavy.

I found that you really need to read the textbook in order to gain a solid understanding of this subject. Ilja skips over a lot of core cases he has on the slides and this leaves holes in your notes. It's definitely best to have access to the textbooks. They also marked extremely hard for this subject and a lot of people were disappointed in their marks. I would make sure you keep up to date with your notes and try and pay attention in tutorials.

Ilija is a great convenor. Makes everything clear and concise, especially when the textbook material is dense and confusing. Keep on top of readings, practice lots of problem questions. Liza is a great tutor, albeit she often runs over time in lectures and her strict teaching style can be rather scary. However, she gives great answers to the problem questions and advice for excelling in the exam.

From a distance student's perspective the unit was very interesting, lectures were great, the on campus session was well taught. But after the on campus session you are on your own. It is a shame that distance students are so badly supported at Macquarie.
