The hurdles quizzes that aren't worth anything has nothing to do with what we learned in the lectures. These are things we are "suppose" to know already. No, not everyone knows algebra before this unit. They had changed the concept this year instead of doing homework which was 20% , they give you an midterm test which isn't even in midterm. It's on the week 6. The assignments are on a ridiculous time, at 7am and if you hand it late they will not even bother making it. Worse subject I did in this university.

A deceptively hard unit and you will expect to see a lot of dropouts during the semester.

A very useful, but challenging unit. Go to tuts, go to lectures, pay attention. You won't pass unless you do.

Very difficult subject. Content is interesting mathematically, but difficult to understand. It would have helped if one of the two lecturers had shown more enthusiasm and wasn't so confusing with his explanations straight off the slides. Tutors are hit and miss. Don't slack off ever because if you fall behind just a little, you'll never be able to catch up again. A LOT of weekly work.

The topics themselves are interesting. On the unit guide is stated that there are no pre-requirements, but I strongly reccommend to review general maths before starting. The unit is designed for IT students, however I saw several engineering students failing and giving up on the first arguments (boolean algebra!). Do not take it easy.

Probably the worst subject I have done yet, the content itself isn't too bad but the one of the lecturers didn't even write let alone understand his own slides, so everyone spent the whole semester catching up on his strand using notes from other countries and sources. They also think this is your only subject and give you so much work to do. My tutor was very helpful and without him I probably would have failed.
