Honestly, I was just looking for an easy planet unit and i ended up with a super confusing unit that provided little to no guidelines for assignments so you really didn't know what you were doing. THE QUIZZES AND FINAL EXAM ARE YOUR WAY TO PASS! The practical assignments are super easy, however, the practicals themselves are beyond boring largely due to the lecturer. Eg He will spend the 2 hour practicals discussing a topic that realistically would only take an hour tops! and at the end you really haven't learnt much because there was no structure or logical flow to the talk, it was just ramblings. I really wasn't impressed with this unit as it lacked structure and order which made assignments confusing and the discussion board was constantly bombarded with student questions surrounding assignments that were never clarified by the staff causing people in the unit to develop speculations around what we should do when the staff should of provided structure. For the final exam though, pass papers will pull you through! Also good luck with the final commentary that was quite an assignment that he posted a negative reflection of the unit as a whole's marks for this assignment. So buckle up for this unit!!!

Horrible and very unorganised unit. Not one assignment was clear or easy to follow. The lecturer spends one dot point explaining something that requires a lot of in depth analysis. If you are thinking of choosing this subject as a planet unit, save yourself the unnecessary trouble and choose something else. This was the worst unit I've ever taken at Macquarie.

Pracs were mainly for assignment work. Referencing requirements were hard to follow. Felt like Lecture’s were long yet vague and readings were much more useful to learning.

Content was really interesting, however required lots of time to actually understand. Lecturer didn't explain efficiently or creatively - slides were not informative just a sentence or two on a very complex process which they assess you on? Overall found it very disorganised and the tute's did not even revise content, it seemed like a completely different topic which i didn't like.

Very disorganised. The work was easy enough to keep up with (staying a week ahead of the quizzes is helpful), but the lectures and labs seemed like completely different subjects and it was hard to share the lecturer's enthusiasm.

Very average unit. Poorly organised and assessed.

Fantastic unit, lots of fun. Make notes, but the final exam was just multiple choice. Attend all of the lectures and practicals. Engage in discussion time.
