If your not great at maths then this topic can be quite tricky. It includes basic calculations and learning how to prepare spreadsheets. The hardest part was knowing where to put everything in the spreadsheet. The end of the topic includes learning ratio calculations. I got extra help from tutor Faisal who was excellent. To get a good grade in this topic, do the weekly practice quizzes and don’t fall behind in the content as it can be hard to catch up.

This subject is not an easy subject a lot of concentration, more studying time is needed to succeed in this subject.

The topic was quite informative and helps students gain an understanding of business financial statements and teaches different methods of analysis that managers may be able to use. I found it difficult to grasp some of the concepts early on in the topic, but taking the extra time to fully understand the content at the start made it easier throughout the rest of the semester. The exam was weighted at 60% but the topic coordinator Amy provided plenty of practice exam questions. Taking the time to nail the practice exam questions made the actual exam a lot easier as the questions were very similar. Overall it was a great topic for those who like numbers and basic calculations.
