Provides basics. If you don't have any prior knowledge of chemistry this unit is for you.

AWFULLY RUN! No answers to textbook questions. Expect background knowledge even though its a foundation unit.

Did not go into depth for those who hadn't done Chemistry since year 10, and thus caused some disadvantages. I did however take this unit during COVID, so I imagine I would've learnt more, and grasped more of the concepts if it had been taught in person. The exam was far too short for the amount of questions and the depth required for each answer. Textbook is vital to the unit as concepts are taken directly from it.

Great basics!

This subject is too easy.

Teachers are helpful and explains lecture content quite clearly and the pracs were relatively easy to do and the lab worksheets was quite a breeze with enough time at the end of this race to finish working through the worksheets. The tutorials were also helpful and provided students with opportunity to ask questions that were challenging and the tutors were really competent and encouraging. Not that hard if you put in some effort throughout the trimester to understand the concepts, so the final exam was relatively straightforward. Overall a great chemistry introductory subjects.

Weekly requirements were not always explicit enough to ensure success in the unit. Do not recommend doing this unit in intensive mode. Particularly not if you have not done any chemistry before or may be lacking in high school math, such as algebra.

Decent pace if you have no chemistry knowledge

If you haven't done VCE chemistry DON'T PANIC! It's not rocket science trust me. Just stay up to date with the weekly topics and immediately ask questions if you don't understand DON'T stay in doubt. Dr. Angel Torreiro is very good and he'll happily help you out and make hard concepts easy. IMPORTANTLY, the practicals are a bit challenging so ASK ASK ASK, you get 3 hours for a practical class but they go by very quick!

You just have to do exercise from the textbooks to be successful at the exams. The weekly quizzes are more difficult. The lab questions are easy. If you need any help, I can be your tutor at Deakin Burwood campus. I'm Quang Minh Nguyen, but you can call me Paul
