The content is interesting and is delivered by Gareth, who I would rank as the best lecturer at the university. This course is offered in a more engaging way, which allows you to focus more on class streams than Russia as a whole. This is less overwhelming. I found the modules on Revolutionary and Stalin art to be the best. However, much of the assessments are largely experimental, which is fine, although this means they are less structured, there aren't many prior examples, and attendance is almost mandatory to get a decent mark. Overall, it was a wonderful course, and regardless of the ill-defined assessments, I am truly glad to have taken it.
