With Ecology being the data intensive science that it is, I don't understand how an ecology subject can be so lacking in proper teaching of statistics and modelling. The course is crap. For example there was one lecture on evolutionary modelling, no tutorial! The follow up 'prac' could've been completed by a grade 7 primary school student, ie, press this button, then this button, then this button. What is the point!!! NO BODY in the course understood anything additional about computation, statistics or modelling than they hadn't learnt elsewhere. The only good thing was the field camp, which, again, can be done in a comatose state, just count the bushes around this tree (for 3days) or count the trees (for 3days) wtf!!!! I should give it 1star really, 2 was generous.
