A very technical unit. Some aspects I don't believe are relevant to an accounting degree such as the technical components of a database. Accountants enter the information in and analyse it, not design the database. Unit would be more suited to an IT degree. Only mention of accounting is in the subject name itself. You do not learn about accounting at all. The saving grace of this unit is the tutor. He understands most students don't see the relevance but tries to make it as easy as possible for you. He makes jokes regularly and is generally a pleasure to be in a teaching space with. He is the sole reason for a 3 and not 1 star review.

Mid term exam MCQ focuses on theory amd techinical terms' definition. Final exam on database third normal form, flowchart, grant chart and internal control scenario questions. The key is to do database questions repetitively and youre good. And always do database assignment on a window computer.
