Reviews

A good introductory course to corporate finance. Capital budgeting is a bit tricky. Other topics are easy to digest. Basic algebra will be helpful in understanding mathematical techniques used in the course.

Doing homework and supplementary questions is all that requires to ace this subject.

Kelly is the best tutor

Lectures are a waste of time as the lecturer just reads from a 25 - 40 page document. No feedback given on assessments, just marks so you don't know what to improve on. No past exam papers or sample papers given because unit coordinator is too lazy to write new ones so all students have to practice are tutorial questions. Waste of time but compulsory for Tax Practitioner's Board qualification.

Make sure you attend the lectures and tutorials. All the final exam questions are from the lecture and tutorials.

This is one of those units that can be difficult to grasp intitially, but if you apply yourself on a weekly basis and try to understand how to solve problems, then over time your confidence will grow. I found the tutor at UWS named Taneem was very clear with his working out and took things step-by-step which was great.

If you get the right lecturer/tutor, you'll have a good time. Partha at UWS is great. Keep up with each week's work and you'll be cruising.
