Reviews
Pretty bad, basically what the last few reviews said. Just wanted to add that you will almost definitely need to pay $70 for a textbook if you want any chance of doing decent in this unit, otherwise you will probably find yourself very lost, as a lot of concepts tested in quizzes and tutorials are just not covered at all in the lectures.

Worst economics unit in 2024. Most students would agree. Farhad is a very poor lecturer/educator and is painfully boring to listen to. Organisation and clarity of the unit is horrendous. Lecture slides provided the bare minimum, often omitting content needed for weekly quizzes or not explaining things clearly. Mid semester exam was a joke, poorly written questions and the answers were even written on one question... Weekly quizzes were also poor quality and worded very weirdly. Extremely disappointing for UWA standards.

This is the worst economics unit i have ever taken. The lecturer does NOT care about you and makes it painfully obvious. Had a mid semester exam with the answers PRINTED on the exam paper.

Really well taught.. Definitely more math heavy than you would think for a macroeconomics unit but still really valuable to learn for future units. It would have been better with an assignment as the only assessments were weekly quizzes, mid-sem exam and final exam. Still a lot of content to learn but enjoyable. The tutorials were a bit bland and would have been better with more discussion I think, but good if you're not into group situations.
