Reviews

-Most difficult/frustrating subject in business -40-50% failure rate, pass rate is inflated as lots of cheaters which makes it x10 harder for students doing it properly -Theory is interesting but not focused on, just goes straight into listing 20+ journal entries -Quiz/exam are very difficult, really needs to be excel templated instead canvas set up -Teaching staff are good enough, ask questions early

If you have a severe autism condition, you might actually do alright in this subject. This subject took me multiple attempts, if i had my time again i would of just got a private tutor to do the quizzes for me and flunked the final exam (flunked nonetheless) because unless you have disciplined 15-20 hours p/week to put into this subject (maybe 10 hours for mildly autistic) this is going to take you around the ringer. Assignment was very interesting although is only worth 20% outside of that don't even both asking a CPA for help because they are not going know whats going on either. Also I recommend private tutes with direct experience in this subject. Overall this subject is an outlier, don't bother with wasting time with knowledge surrounding theory (or even just trying to understand the general concept of whats going on) because in all honesty the more exam irrelevant info you know the more confusing the subject this comes.

The most difficult subject I have ever taken at UTS. The final exam is made 100x more difficult when online. Content is meh.

Difficult subject but very interesting

Anonymous, Semester 2, 2016

Although the content was difficult, the lecturers and tutors are on top of their work and explain the course in an understandable manner

It used to be much more difficult, now if you pay attention each week and get your head around concept will be good.

Anonymous, Semester 2, 2017

Easily the most demanding accounting subject because of the contents which are difficult to grasp. Practice tutorial questions and past papers many times.

One of the harder subjects in the major. Focus on the weekly work and make sure you understand consolidation otherwise the latter part of the subject could become quite daunting.

Can be a difficult subject but once you get your head around the nature of the accounting it can really click and become manageable.

Not as hard as everybody says, just be up to date and you'll be fine. Not a subject where u can cram.
