Reviews
Firstly, the course looks a bit scary as we have to use r programming. But as times went by it is actually a fantastic and useful unit! Understanding lectures are very important and I am suggested to follow di warren's lecture as her teaching method is super clear and interesting!

This was a very enjoyable subject

Stats was a great course. The lecture notes were all uploaded at the beginning of semester and had a clear and consistent layout. The tutorials were challenging and were also available at the beginning of semester so you were able to work ahead of time.

Quite an easy unit - helps with the fundamentals of statistics. Would recommend taking it.

This subjects starts off quite easily with a look at methods of presenting and analysing data. It proceeds on to probability, which I found a bit challenging (never quite wrapped my head around all the different methods for calculating probabilities). The course wraps up with a section on hypothesis testing, introducing Z-tests, t-tests and chi squared tests. This section took a bit of getting used to but made sense after a while. Generally it could be quite dry, but it was quite different to the other first-year maths subjects which was refreshing.

It's very different from other math subjects so I'd highly recommend getting a tutor for the subject.

Interesting subject which can seem foreign to students who haven't previously had stats experience.
