Reviews
Great teaching by the lecturer and Andrew. The tutors are helpful on Ed. The challenges are interesting, but the tutorial questions are pretty vague and poorly explained. Assignment 1 was boring and tedious (had to create a Library OS). In comparison, we created a fun maze runner game in INFO1110 which was super interesting. However, Assignment 2 was cool - we recreated the entirety of pacman.

作业量真的好多,老师讲的不如info1110清楚

The unit's content is good. There were heavy assignments with less weightage, but in the end, practice matters a lot.
Anonymous, Semester 1, 2019
Terrible assignment specs, lecturer and tutor saying contradicting things on the discussion board and now a cancelled practical meaning more weighting on the final exam.

The subject introduces some core concepts of Java and object-oriented programming as the name suggests, but much of the content is not very engaging.
Anonymous, Semester 2, 2018
More than 20 hours time spending and 1000 lines of code only worth 4 marks. Think about it yourself.

INFO1113, as the second course of this kind you will study in your IT degree, will definitely provide you with the insight of being a developer. The concept of Object-Oriented Programming (aka OOP) is heavily used in industries in developing software. You will be exposed to more on classes in this course than in INFO1110. The language used in this course is Java, which is one of the most (if not the most) popular programming language in the world today. I personally enjoy writing software using Java as it is highly modularized (you can develop your own in your assignment!). Definitely worth doing!
