Reviews
The first half on political thinkers was quite interesting, while the second half was way too abstract to understand. Assignment and final exam wise, they seem pretty manageable. Overall, quite useful if people intend to continue post-grad research work on political science.

actually pretty interesting, assessments weren't too hard, useful for social science study

Boring subject. Pretty much useless content. Only take this if it is compulsory for your major

Some aspects of this unit were a bit poorly organised (i.e. we were expected to hand in an assignment worth 30% before we had learnt the content). Following assignments were relatively okay. First half of the unit focused on research methods and second half was based around theories. First half became very dry although second half was very interesting. The lecturers also change every week. Overall an interesting subject, although make sure to keep up with the readings and lectures.

Nothing helpful, boring and just waste of time

Peter Chen is amazing. This subject was awesome - guest lecturers every week and a broad range of topics. Chen gets to the hard, important stuff like epistemology and ontology and looks at what GOVT is as a field of study. Assignments were amazing - challenging and interesting. You get to critique a real published work which is hard AF and then write your own mock research project on basically any topic you want.
