Was a great unit in helping me redevelop interest in Chemistry after loathing it in high school.

Great subject!! The content ramps up pretty quickly and you have to make sure you stay on top of it, the final exam can be quite challenging otherwise.

Incredibly challenging course, goes way past what they teach you in lectures. Be prepared to learn the majority of the course in your own time.

Really enjoyed this subject. Was easier than I expected and in line with HSC chemistry

This subject is a great introduction to chemistry. It assumes a pretty basic understanding from HSC chemistry and builds some of the basic concepts in chemistry from the ground up, including: quantum chemistry, Lewis dot structures, VSEPR theory, thermodynamics and cell potentials (amongst others). The lecturers were all very good (for my stream at least). The tutorials were mostly suited to independent working - everyone is given a worksheet to work through, and can collaborate and compare answers if they wish. Labs were generally interesting, although the lab material generally wasn't related to the lectures at all. Overall a very interesting subject!

Really good unit - set me up well for second year biochemistry. Would recommend.

Fantastic content and very interesting. It is quite challenging and does go quite far past what they actually teach you so you need to be a good independent learner. Overall a difficult but interesting course.

If you loke chem, you'll love this!

Demanding but excellent subject. Provides a great foundation for later chemistry subjects. Also helps if you have done HSC Chemistry previously

Very well structured course with excellent delivery of material and resources to support student learning. Impressively well organised! The lecturers were amazing and the course material opened my eyes to the connection with Biology and Physics. As a first time Chemistry student, I felt a bit lost in the the Lab Practicals but most of the demonstrators were patient and supportive.
