Reviews

By far my favourite unit. Lecturers are super engaging and present the content in an easy-to-understand manner. Keeping on top of the content and assignments throughout the semester is key if you want to do well - especially as the final is difficult and not at all reliant on rote-learning. Plenty of resources to help you do just that though! (Peerwise comes to mind and instructors are always super responsive on Piazza).

Interesting content with great & approachable lecturers. They are very active on Piazza, so whenever you're stuck, you know where to go! There is a lot of content and I spent too much time on the practical lab component (ELN) which is due fortnightly. I wish I had spent that time on revising for the final exam. Make sure you allocate yourself some weekly revision time. The exam is not straightforward and tests to see if you have a deep understanding of the material. Cramming last minute for this course will not work!

Very content heavy course by really good resources and Gareth makes the second of the course lecturers really enjoyable.
