Useful content but first half of the course was not well taught

Anonymous, Semester 1, 2018

Very applicable to real life. However, some topics can be challenging to understand such Aggregate Demand/Supply. A lot of stuff you need to memorise. Diagrams are more complicated than those in microeconomics

Interesting subject in my economic major at USYD. The examination (final) is not tricky & all calculation questions had been found in the lecture slides & tutorials each week. In total, good subject to enrol & recommended for first year students

Anonymous, Semester 2, 2013

Enjoyed it a lot more than Micro - not only more relevant/directly applicable to the real world, there was less fiddly maths.

Anonymous, Semester 1, 2017

Very interesting, practical because it's about the macroeconomy. However, the math and graphs are not always intuitive. The explanation of content is dependent on the lecturer. It's very easy to get confused if you get a bad one.

Anonymous, Semester 2, 2015

An interesting subject. Definitely shows how relevant economics is to everything that goes on around us. Jordi's teaching was terrible, he read everything off the slides word for word, not to mention he made a massive typo in the mid sem which screwed over almost all the students. Sam's teaching on the other hand has been great so far. He is more engaging and makes the subject a lot more fun. The content is quite simple to understand too, would recommend.

Anonymous, Semester 1, 2017

My tutor couldn't speak english, they stuffed up the mid term exam for all the students due to typing errors, the tuts/lectures didn't teach the same content. All in all an interesting subject, with crap organisation.

Loved it

Anonymous, Semester 2, 2014

This unit was a mixed bag for me. The content itself was good and informative. However, the rotation of lecturers made the unit feel less cohesive, as they varied in teaching style and ability. Tutorials were pretty standard and the assignment is very manageable. Overall, the unit could be improved but nevertheless, is very fair and decent.
