Reviews

very interesting, and expansive. lectures week by week progress through the decades of Hollywood, the relevant theories that arise with them, but also the politics that informed them. great contextualization if you are studying screen/film. had duncan as a tutor, loved him really engaged a 9am class

Diana is an amazing lecturer and also made our tutorials super fun as well! She was very willing to help, it was clear she was passionate and in giving us freedom in our assignments by allowing us to create our own essay topics, that ultimately made the subject even more enjoyable. Hollywood and Entertainment was always the highlight of my uni week and I will miss it, especially our wild tutorial discussions. Loved the diversity of film choices as well, highly recommend!

Cool lecturer, fascinating content, and assignments where we got to choose our subject. I loved this subject. The tutorial presentation assignment was kind of chaotic though, because every student had to pick a week to initiate tutorial discussion, but for some reason, half of my tutorial just didn't initiate tutorial discussion on any of the weeks, even though they were supposed to. We had to watch a different film each week, and some of them were surprisingly interesting (e.g. The Graduate, which I never thought I would liked but actually ended up being one of my favourite films from the course), however some of them were not my thing at all and I did not enjoy those weeks as much.
