Wasn’t as interesting as I thought it would be, monitoring food and nutrition intake was better TBH. This is a very content heavy subject, although everything was open book so you don’t need to memorise much. The subject spent too much time on pregnancy (like 4 weeks!) and babies, so you don’t learn too much about nutrition relating to the older population. Workshop was boring, everyone works on a shared google sheet answering questions and no one really puts in the effort. Every week you have to submit questions on a case study, but they don’t contribute to your grade. Worst part was the written assignment (worth 30%, 1500 words) and it’s much harder than second year nutrition essays or reports. You use data from nutrition datasets and generate plots and figures and infer potential nutritional inadequacies in the population. Average mark for the assignment was 69% so yeah don’t expect a very high mark on it. MST average was 75% and exam was surprisingly easy and straightforward. If you want a H1 make sure you get a good mark on that report, a H1 for that report is possible although not many students achieved that. It’s certainty better than 2nd year nutrition and easier to score but it was just meh, didn’t regret doing it only because I did it with some friends which made it less dreadful. Okayy, it’s not that bad but certainty won’t be your favourite either. If you’re wanting to take a nutrition elective do monitoring food and nutrition intake instead its mostly multiple choice, lower workload and bit easier to score.
