A great introduction to data analysis, it can be really confusing at the start but if you work through the examples carefully, everything will start to make sense in the end. By week 12 everything that seems vague and confusing will suddenly form into a big picture ! the lecturer is so nice and the tutors are very helpful as well, I highly recommend the subject (despite it is quite difficult indeed! )

I didn't understand a lot of things in the beginning, but as the topics build onto one another, it gets easier to grasp the concepts over time. Sharon is a really fun and interesting lecturer, and she is always ready to help whenever you have a problem. The lab test was pretty easy, as long as you've done the lab sessions.

Honestly in the beginning I found the subject very difficult to keep up with. However I powered through it and it turned out to be one of my favourite subjects all year! The tutors are great, Sharon is a mastermind and everyone in the subject is always there to lend a hand. I highly recommend the subject!

It may sound strange, but although I didn't much like this subject, I would highly recommend it to anyone doing Science. It gives you a great understanding of study designs, and (as the name would suggest) how to analyse data from a study or experiment. It also gives you a good understanding of the basics of statistics, so for someone considering the Maths & Stats major you can see what stats actually is, and how it differs from doing maths. If you aren't looking for a top top score, the workload isn't too bad, and the lectures are pretty interesting some of the time. I don't think you will hate the subject, but even if you find that stats isn't for you, you'll probably be glad you tried it.
