Interesting subject. Mark is a great lecturer and his textbook for the subject is a good resource. The structure of the subject was a bit different I enjoyed the weekly quizzes and found them straightforward however the fortnightly workshops I felt did not give enough opportunity to discuss things in detail due to the size of the classes and I think a weekly tutorial would have been more beneficial. I also expected the focus of the subject to be on the post-Stalin years however the subject timeline starts before the 1917 revolution so there is quite a lot of content coverig the entire span of the USSR. The assignments were good and gave a lot of freedom to research whatever you were interested in. I'd reccomend this for anyone wanting to do an overview of the USSR and Russian revolution.
