Reviews

Did this as a breadth and found it quite dry and boring (coming from someone who loves history). The readings were near impossible to do as my course has a very heavy workload. There's no point attending lectures if you already have a general understanding of the war, as the assessments (minus the final essay) are based on a person rather than an event. Overall, wasn't terrible but didn't really enjoy it.

The best subject I’ve taken so far. Lectures by Julie were engaging and informative. Assignments were interesting and challenging. Unlike other subjects, this one actually gave you a bit of flexibility and creativity with your assignments. They let you pick what you want to write about for 2/3 of assessments. Tutorials were great and helpful.

Interesting for the first few weeks but readings and lectures got dry by the end.

Very well presented and interesting subject. The only problem that I had was that the lecture recordings often didn't work

The content was very interesting, and the lecturers were clear and engaging. The readings were well-chosen and often applied theories to the events of the war. My only criticism is that the second assessment task we had felt a little bit distant from the lectures and readings. Also, the broad scope of the subject often left me feeling like we didn't have enough time to study a particular event or idea in too much depth.
