I heard good things about this subject but the quality tanked this semester. I would give zero stars if I could. I can understand lockdown and everything which affected the practical which is getting postponed to after the exam. Which sounds completely absurd. The actual theory and lecture content didn't make sense sometimes. There was a very poor logical progression making it very hard and dry to follow. Apart from levelling, traversing, area, volume calculations, the rest of the lectures or about 5 -6 weeks (10-12) lectures were literally a general overview of the types of surveying technique. Like sure I could get that off wikipedia and youtube easily and have them explain it far better. Since our practicals got postponed, we didn't have any makeup tutes or anything during the semester. It was literally 12 weeks of lectures only, no tute sheet, no quizzes, no practice exam, no exam consultation. NOTHING! I was rather considerate usually, but the sheer lack of care and minimal effort by the subject coordinator was utterly appalling. I really wish i got to experience this subject in its full glory. Sadly I'm not so lucky,

Very fun. Not often subjects like this available at uni. Lots of outdoor work, hands-on. All of sem, other than exam is group work. Great fun. Lots of new skills to learn, lots of high-tech surveying equipment used. Staff are all very nice and understanding, the best i've had. Enjoyable experience!!

great fun, Kenny is a fantastic teacher and the equipment and procedures are straightforward. Downsides: get a good efficient group or it will be a long and painful semester. Opt for a "buddy group" throughout the semester- the challenges that may presents will be well worth it in the end when the final task is half as much work. Exam is really really easy, the same as previous years.
