Most of the lecturers (specifically David Phillips and Eleanor Green) are excellent. Very patient, extremely knowledgeable. The field trips are fun (although expensive) and the pracs are engaging and hands on. The tutors are also wonderful and knowledgeable. However, this is a HARD geology subject, looking at the in-depth characteristics and composition of igneous rocks (think small scale, very detailed, memorise lots of stuff kind of knowledge). Therefore, I would not recommend it as an elective/breadth unless you are specifically interested with the minute details of how specific igneous rocks form.

Awesome subject, just have to keep up with the pracs and go to the lectures as they can be quite interactive. Best fieldtrip.
