Reviews

Ilan is great! Really enjoyed having him as a tutor and as a lecturer; the content is interesting and the discussions in class were engaging! The assignments were relatively straightforward and the marking was good!

I really enjoyed this subject. There was a great variety of topics covered in the lectures and Ilan was a highly engaging lecturer and made the content easy to understand and apply. The workload was very manageable and assignments were straightforward and focussed. There were some interesting discussions in my tutorials and I found this to be a great intersection between geography, sociology and urban planning.

Interesting content but very one-sided discussion especially in tutorials. This subject feels a lot like sociology.

Asides from the dry lectures, where the lecturer practically reads a research essay as her presentation, the subject is interesting. It focuses in the inequalities in cities, and how aspects have changed overtime. Very Melbourne focused, so local students have an advantage. Assessment is very easy, no more than 1000 words each, and able to get very good marks by only watching the lectures relevant for the entire semester. Ended up getting a high H1 with doing minimal work.
