Making Movies 2 is an engaging and practical subject that builds on the foundational skills introduced in Making Movies 1. It explores advanced aspects of filmmaking, including pre-visualization techniques, mise-en-scène, adaptation, experimental film, animation, documentary writing, and working with actors. The subject provides a great mix of theory and hands-on activities. Weekly lectures are easy to follow and offer valuable insights from industry professionals. Practical assignments allow students to explore various creative outputs, such as developing shooting scripts, adapting screenplays, or crafting short experimental films. Assessments include quizzes, practical tasks focusing on pre-visualization, and a critical creative assignment, giving students flexibility to choose projects that align with their interests. The quizzes are straightforward and serve as an easy way to boost grades. Students who enjoy filmmaking or want to deepen their storytelling and production skills will find this subject highly rewarding. It’s a fantastic choice for those pursuing a breadth track or with a passion for visual storytelling.

i love this breadth track. the lectures are easy to follow and the quizzes are an easy boost to ur subject score. for the first assessment, we had to mark up a script (of our choosing out of 2) and create a storyboard for it which was surprisingly fun. for the second one, we had so much freedom on what we could create (granted that we followed a particular theme or rules) which made it so fun. due to other subject commitments, i ended up planning a documentary which i found to be the least time consuming. but if i had more time i def would challenge myself and try the other options (such as actually making a short film). easy H1

this subject was very straightforward and as long as you watch the lectures it's easy to score high on the assessments. it was very engaging and the lecturers were nice. so far this was one of my highest graded subjects.

This subject was more hands-on than Making Movies 1 and required actually going to the lectures. The assignments were not as interesting as the Making Movies 1 assignments, as we were not able to choose the script that we marked up for the director's script assignment, and for the final adaptation assignment (we were allowed to choose whether we wanted to do adaptation, bare bones, animation etc.) we had a choice of 3 short stories to adapt to a screenplay and all 3 of them were very boring stories. Also, there was only one lecture time available and while the lectures were not compulsory, you had to go to them if you wanted to learn anything.
