Reviews

This was one of the most eye-opening courses I have ever done. If you go into this with the mindset of just completing it then you will hate it. Take the time to learn and grow as you (painfully) complete a group project for a sponsor company. Use the expertise of the mentor to gain insights into the type of project that will produce the most value for the company. Go out of your way to create the best reflections, feedbacks and reports as it is invaluable for your growth and the underlying course goals. The closest thing you will get to real life experience in university which is what you should be (self-)learning, not calculations and formulas and tests. Peter was a great lecturer and spent a lot of time fine-tuning this course which can be seen through the very relevant lecture materials and recommended readings. In-class activities are also important to keep you engaged in the topics and create discussions. Bottom line is: time-consuming but rewarding beyond any university course you can take (except for an internship).

huge time commitment, stupid assessments, lectures have compulsory attendence despite being completly useless and filled with random BS and silly group tasks. absolutely insane that you are forced to take it, spend money to learn absolutely nothing and hate your life

Very time-intensive and difficult subject, but it can also very rewarding if you give it your best effort. It gives you the chance to improve your soft skills and professionalism, and requires a genuinely collaborative team effort (unlike the usual maths and programming based engineering group assignments which can for the most part be done alone). However, I'd imagine you'd be pretty screwed if most your group mates don't make an effort, which fortunately was not the case for me.

Not just the worst subject I've ever done but one of the worst experiences of my life.

Great Subject. One subject that gives you real world exposure.
