needed a quick wam booster - this is the only class in my entire undergrad degree (I'm a third year) that I haven't watched any lectures/done any readings and I still got an 87 in. Insanely easy subject if you know how to write a scientific report well, and can fluff up your analysis with nice words. Also a good way to find ways to increase your wellbeing, just apply yourself as the 'subject' you choose to develop for your wellbeing plan and it turns into a reflective essay pretty much. Highly recommend if you need something quick & easy

Did this as a 2023 summer intensive. Manageable workload, especially because the final assignments were due after the summer period (we got two weeks to work on each assignment, with the final assignment being due in Week 2, of Sem 1). The content is definitely the best part. The people in the tutes/workshops were all pretty keen to be there and made it enjoyable. The quiz was a bit hard since some of the questions examined the readings in depth (eg: methodology, findings), but it was open book so if you knew where to find the info, you could still do well. No group projects. The two assignments were about picking a PPI and doing a poster/report/video on it and developing a wellbeing plan. Both went okay for me, but some people thought the assignments were marked harshly. Got an H1 overall :)

Absolutely incredible subject which can either be an easy WAM booster or a real chance to think about and improve your wellbeing. The online content was extremely interesting but you could get by in the subject without watching all of it (I also read none of the readings and still got a H1). The online content also often quite relaxing, almost like a podcast that you could half-listen to as long as you wrote notes afterwards. You do need to put effort into the assessments to do well though. Some of the concepts seemed airy-fairy but you do critically analyse the literature and different theories behind wellbeing so can make up your own mind about their validity and which one you find most likely. If you are lucky enough to have an engaged group of students in your tute, they can be very enjoyable and make the group assessment a breeze. The one downside for me was that the tutes included both online and in person students, so you would have a room full of people and a projector with a zoom call to more people. While this meant you could still go to class if you were isolating (or just couldn't be bothered commuting), it made the group project very annoying. My group had one online member who tried their best, but it was difficult to communicate and get anything done, plus it felt like we were excluding them unintentionally. So if you would have to do the class online, maybe give it a miss. The final assessment (a 1600 word essay/literature review/journal hybrid thing) was so flexible and you could customize it to be genuinely relevant to your life, or just something easy (eg. mine was the connection between exercise and a sense of environmental mastery while someone else looked at the connection between socialising and contentment). I often found myself applying the concepts I learned in class to my life. My tutor Sue Salimito was wonderful and tried really hard to get everyone involved in class. Overall, would thoroughly recommend this class to anyone interested in learning about your wellbeing or just in getting a good grade without too much effort.

Easy content and the quiz is open book. I would advise against taking the summer intensive and just stick to the semester course as it definitely felt rushed - both the content and the assessments. Be warned though, there's a major group assessment that can really make or break your chances at getting a good grade in the class.

Enjoyable class! Great content that was engaging and relevant to everyone! Classes (Tutes) were super chill and I looked forward to them! Assessments were not hard at all! Great elective to choose for anyone! (APA referencing and positive psychology literature/readings/content)

One of the best subjects during my uni years!! It doesn't even feel like a subject, because everytime I enter the tutes, I feel really energized. The essays are quite managable, however, my final mark dropped a bit bcs of the online quiz. Be really careful of it, it was really hard despite the open book system. Take this subject if you love positive psychology!

Lectures and tutorials are relaxing, interesting and engaging. The staff teaching this subject are really genuine, nice and made turning up for online tutorials enjoyable. The information you learn about wellbeing is really useful for daily life and I have found myself applying the information I learnt from this breadth in other classes. Would recommend everyone take this subject, there is a lot of essay writing and research though if that is something you don't enjoy but the assignments were broken down and made easy to understand and you are given good starting resources to help.

Loved this subject - interesting content with no exam and an opportunity to try and be a better person. Its amazing when most other subjects are so full on :)

Tutorials were relaxing, best part of the semester. Lectures pretty good. Subject doesn't seem content heavy until you get to assessments, which require some effort. I thought the marking was a little harsh but that's coming from a non-psych student who's not used to writing about research studies. Enjoyed it overall. Teachings are very applicable to everyday life.

Pretty average. Only highlights were character strengths and no exam. The two our lecture hurt and tutes were often a waste of time. Would recommend if you're into positive psychology BUT 60% of the subject was due during swotvac
