The subject gives you a taste of engineering design and prepares you well for design project in terms of presenting a comprehensive design report for an equipment item e.g. pressure vessel, heat exchanger and distillation column. Assignments are long and somewhat tedious but not that difficult in terms of calculations. The main challenge is the subject is taken with other more demanding subjects so the lengthy assignments become much more of a burden when deadlines for other subjects are pressing.
