This was one of my favourite university subjects!! The lecturer was very engaging and always open to feedback, and as someone who did not previously know anything about biotechnology, she made the new concepts easy to understand. The tutor Neeta is also amazing and replies to emails/ questions very quickly and thoroughly!! Neeta was incredibly helpful throughout the semester and was always willing to go over concepts I did not understand and the MST. The subject is not too difficult to do well in, given you spend time to go over the tutorial questions and keep up with the lectures. I highly recommend this subject for anyone looking to do biotechnology/ are interested in the process of creating and patenting biotech crops.

Do not take this unless you are either: 1. A biotech major; 2. Have some interest in the topics covered. The MST is relatively straight forward if you enjoy the content and retain the concepts talked about in lectures and tutorials. Most students have probably learnt the subject in their Level 2 subjects so they can easily pass the subject and do well, otherwise, it is an extremely dull and dry subject if you have 0 interest.

dull lecturer but informative lecture slides regarding agrifood biotechnology. However some material overlapping with the subjects BTCH20002 Biotechnology and BTCH30001 Methods in Agrifood Biotechnology. Average overall.
