This subject had a lot of potential to be interesting, but I think there was a lack of coordination by the staff managing it. Because each week discussed a different country in the Asian region, each lecture was given by a different guest speaker. This made the lectures lack cohesion. Some lectures were also very dry. It did not help that lectures were compulsory and attendance was taken. The two essays for assessment were straightforward, and you don't need to pay attention in any of the lectures to do well. I was always interested in the topic I explored in my essays, but wish I could say the same for the rest of the subject.
