You select one Modern architect to learn, copy and use to design something new. You will also attend lectures on Modern Master architects, which are interesting. Do not take this unit unless you need to (for the Architecture major). The subject outline and delivery is incredibly obscure. It is impossible to anticipate what work you are expected to complete/undertake. 90% of class time is in crits/presentation, not actual studio work. Recommend gaining some benefit from this unit by: -looking at the 'recommended texts' list as soon as it is on the LMS as you will actually learn something from it, and is the only way you will find a hint about what work is expected of you. -keeping a thorough journal/visual diary -connecting with other students at the same level as yourself (it's a rare opportunity at this university).
