Had so much potential to be better but still a decent subject overall. The exam is a bit of a mess but the lab report was fair.

Anonymous, Semester 1, 2016

Was very interesting but the exam was badly worded and difficult. There were 3 short essays, out of which I managed to write 2. I was not sure what the 3rd essay was asking of me. I asked around after and it seems many students had the same difficulties.

Anonymous, Semester 1, 2018

This subject was definitely interesting, but poorly structured in my opinion. Personally felt that it was not necessary to have essay questions for the final exam, but overall it was a fairly decent subject to take for Psychology.

Anonymous, Semester 1, 2017

I loved this subject and felt it was reasonably easy to do well in it. The lab report was interesting and if you prepare well for the exam you can do well! The content itself was interesting even if the way certain lecturers present it is a bit boring - but stick with it - lots of students find they have a passion for developmental psychology.

Anonymous, Semester 1, 2015

Pretty poorly coordinated and not particularly interesting. I guess it's subjective whether people might enjoy the content of this subject, but from what I could tell the general consensus was that most people found it really dry. I'd say the standard of lecturing was noticeably lower for this subject than the other 2nd year psych subjects as well. It's pretty chill though, definitely the easiest of the four psych subjects you do in second year.

Anonymous, Semester 1, 2016

The organisation of this subject was far from the best, but the content was fairly interesting and easy to follow.

Anonymous, Semester 1, 2016

This was a good subject - wasn't my favourite second year subject but that is my bias. It was well structured and was definitely interesting.

Anonymous, Semester 1, 2017

I liked this subject - could be a bit disorganised at times though, but the content was interesting and easy to follow

Anonymous, Semester 1, 2015

Excellent subject, well structured well taught.

Anonymous, Semester 2, 2013

Fascinating knowledge about children (and also myself). Had a fun interview with a boy for the assignment. Marking criteria for assignments were not so straightforward which I did not find very helpful. I somehow found it easier to understand and organise the content from the textbook than lectures.
